The Basquaise, 96" Reclaimed Wood Trestle Table (Trade)

$4,945.00
| /

Set this one next to almost anything mid-century or modern and it wins the room without raising its voice. This 96-inch trestle table comes from the same French Basque tavern lineage as our other reclaimed pieces, but it carries its own grain story: a tight, straight run of honey-toned wood under a natural wax finish, with legs cut a substantial 4.5 inches thick for a stance that feels more architecture than furniture. The X-cross brace and single floor stretcher are pegged and fitted the old way, no hidden brackets, nothing you can't see and understand just by looking underneath. Like any piece built from reclaimed timber, it carries small chips at a few edges and a hairline crack or two in the grain; we leave these as found rather than disguising them, since they're proof of the wood's age rather than a flaw. At 39.5 inches deep it's proportioned a touch leaner than our 40-inch version, an easy fit for a narrower dining room without losing an inch of the presence a 96-inch table should have. Eight to ten chairs fit around it comfortably. Set it under a low-hanging pendant with woven placemats, and let the honesty of the joinery do the decorating.

Q&A

•How many people does this table seat? Comfortably 8 to 10.
•What makes this different from your other 96-inch trestle table? Same French Basque trestle design, but a different piece of reclaimed timber, so the grain pattern, leg thickness (4.5" vs. 4"), and depth (39.5" vs. 40") are each unique to this table.
•Will the table have chips or cracks in it? Yes, small chips and hairline cracks are typical of reclaimed wood and left visible rather than filled.
