A masterful piece, this carved wooden figure mimics the gravitas of ancient bronze or stone. Standing 24 inches tall, the sculpture depicts a female divinity— a Yakshi or temple attendant—captured in a dynamic dance pose. The surface is the real showstopper: the original polychrome paint has weathered over decades into a complex, crusty patina of greens, browns, and earth tones that creates the illusion of oxidized metal. Mounted on a custom block stand, this piece bridges ancient devotional art with contemporary sculptural display.
