Found in the North west desert of India, this original ceremonial Tikka box has a lovely distressed black painted finish. Tikka is a dot worn during ceremonies or celebrations usually on the forehead, made of vermillion and sandalwood powder. This large Tikka or spice container has a hand-turned wooden body with a pagoda style lid. This gorgeous vintage India box was used in temples and households to store the powder.
