The kinnara is a mythical creature in Buddhist and Hindu mythology, often depicted as a half-human, half-bird creature. This antique sculpture was made using terra-cotta and were used to adorn the walls of temples and other religious buildings. This kinnara is depicted in a graceful, dancing pose, with intricate details carved into the feathers, legs and wings. The large and imposing clay statue has been mounted on a metal stand to give it extra support. Shows minor cracks, chips and imperfections.
