A: The grey-white surface carries cooler bluish tones and darker flecks that come from natural weathering, mineral variation in the stone and years of exposure. It is not a paint or a coating, and no two pieces look alike. We have not cleaned or sealed it, so you are seeing the finish as it came to us.
Q: Can I carry it by the handle?
A: The handle is there to lift and position the piece, but because the stone is heavy and the iron is aged, we recommend supporting the base with your other hand when you move it. Set it down gently on a level surface so the rusted iron isn't stressed.
