Grounded, primitive, and imbued with centuries of history, This stone Basin is an authentic late 19th-century water feature that epitomizes "Wabi-Sabi" soul. Hand-carved from a single block of dense, weathered Sandstone, this rectangular trough features an unusually low, 10-inch profile. The sandstone material is particularly prized for its ability to absorb and hold moisture, creating a deeply varied, darker patina when wet that showcases the stone’s ancient mineral character. We have reimagined this basin with a focused, minimal "Zen" water element. Included with this fountain is an internal circulation pump and a single,  copper spigot, which releases a gentle, quiet stream from just beneath the water level. This specific configuration is designed to minimize splash and maximize the meditative, silent ripple that creates a natural spring effect against the rugged interior of the stone.

As a true 19th-century artifact, this basin features centuries of weathering, authentic chisel marks, and softened edges. Because it was hand-carved from a monolithic block, the base is not perfectly level; as is common with architectural salvage, shims may be required during installation to achieve your desired water level and balance. These natural irregularities are essential markers of its ancient utilitarian history.

This is a monolithic sandstone artifact. We include the custom internal pump and copper spigot.
