A courtyard gathering carved in high relief and finished in distressed black, with coppery wear on the raised surfaces. A group of robed figures stands in the center, a child at their feet, with trees and rooftops stepping back behind them and a round opening at the far right. The carving is busy but well ordered, and the dark center sits against a frame of raw, light wood that gives the panel a clean edge.

This is the slightly taller of two panels of the same width, at 54 inches wide and just over 20 inches high, so it has more presence over a sofa or a bed. Hang it level and centered, or lean it on a long console or a sideboard. The contrast between the black field and the pale border suits plaster walls, wood furniture and modern rooms with a few quiet antiques in them.
