Tall & Slim Gold Thayo Stupa

$885.00
| /

A relic of devotional art from Myanmar, this slender, towering object mimics the form of a Buddhist stupa or the ornate finial of a Hsun-Ok offering vessel. Crafted from wood and coated in traditional gold leaf, the body is adorned with Thayo work—a relief technique using molded lacquer paste to create intricate raised patterns. The central section features a diamond lattice design, originally inlaid with tiny shards of colored glass or mirror to catch the candlelight in a temple. The weathered gold finish gives it an ethereal, spiritual quality, showing the passage of time through its gentle fading. Because of its spiritual origins, it brings a sense of calm and mindfulness to a room, making it ideal for a quiet reading corner or meditation space.
