A majestic 18th century carved Guan Yin Buddha statue, a known figure of compassion and mercy. This impressive standing Quan Yi figure is standing at ease on top of a lotus base with the right palm facing upwards. Carved with incredible intricate details such as the ripples on the garment, the strands of the hair and details on the jewelry, the figure wears a magnificent foliate diadem with applied vermilion pigment, and its facial expression is downcast and serene as its sits on a carved elevated base. Truly a remarkable piece of art.

This antique wooden Guan Yin sculpture would have been placed in public temples, likely shown at a monastery altar. A beautiful carved Guan Yin statue figure convey a divinity distinctly removed from the real experiences of mortal humans.
