This vessel proves that simple is often best. Free from ornate engravings, the beauty here comes entirely from the metal itself. It is crafted from a zinc-copper alloy, giving it a incredible "gunmetal" patina that shifts between warm bronze and cool silver tones depending on the light. The shape is perfectly balanced—a wide, stable base tapering up to a flared rim th. It is heavy, thick-walled, and feels virtually indestructible. It has the quiet, commanding presence of a piece that was used daily for decades yet remains perfectly intact. Sourced from India, this heavy basin was likely used as a large cooking vessel (similar to a Degchi) or a community water container in a rural kitchen. The addition of zinc to the copper created a stronger, more durable alloy that could withstand high heat and heavy use better than pure copper. The lack of decoration suggests it was a purely functional object, which ironically makes it more valuable today for modern minimalist interiors that crave "honest" materials.

This antique copper pot is the perfect size for a medium indoor tree (like an Olive or Ficus). The metal contrasts beautifully with green leaves.  It is also thick enough to insulate cold items. Fill it with ice and use it as a sophisticated beverage cooler for champagne or wine during a dinner party.
