Finely Carved African Bamileke Stool

This antique African Bamileke stool, originally use as a throne is hand carved from a single wood log with a waxed finish. This African stool sourced from Cameroon has long been used as ceremonial seating to indicate the status and power of tribal chiefs and kings, with the status of the owner or the tribe represented in the particular design. This antique African stool features alternating male and female human figures design all around with a rounded top and rich brown finish.
