An Isfahan Persian miniature painting of a celebration. This painting on tile depicts a bustling gathering of musicians and dancers dressed in traditional clothing congregated on a tile platform, with a pastoral, rolling landscape to the background cut with a winding stream. The composition is bordered by a foliate motif in black and blue. This is presented under glass in a wooden frame adorned with six-pointed stars created with inlaid tile. Good condition; age wear, minor marks and scratches.
