This 37-inch Antique Apothecary Cabinet is a rare survivor from the colonial era of Northern India, offering a perfect blend of transparency and rugged utility. Hand-built from solid, old-growth teak, the cabinet was originally used in a provincial pharmacy or general store to display medicinal tinctures and dry goods. It features a unique three-sided glass gallery, allowing light to penetrate from the front and sides to highlight the objects within. The wood is finished in its original "bleached" raw teak state, showcasing a dry, sun-drenched patina that is highly coveted in Wabi-Sabi and Organic Modern interiors.  Derived from the 19th-century British influence on Indian shopkeeping, this "showcase" cabinet is a testament to the durability of teak. The frame is constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, designed to withstand heavy use in a high-traffic retail environment. The original hand-forged iron latch and pull (visible in the detailed shots) remain fully functional, and the cabinet sits on its original squat bun feet, which retain traces of their original pigment.

At 29 inches high, this cabinet is exceptionally versatile. It is the ideal height for a statement bar cabinet, a luxury bathroom towel and toiletry display, or a "curiosity cabinet" in a study. Its shallow depth (17 inches) makes it perfect for smaller alcoves or entryways. To emphasize its airy, glass-fronted design, style the internal shelves with a monochrome collection of white ceramics, vintage glassware, or a stack of textured linens. The raw, weathered wood grain acts as a stunning organic contrast to polished surfaces or modern marble floors.
